Current Openings

• General Labourer 
  • Perform tasks involving physical labour to support heavy construction project requirements. 
    • Requirements: 
      • Motivated and reliable 
      • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance
      • Able to work in all weather conditions 
      • Able to use power tools of all types 
      • Experience working on heavy civil construction projects is an asset 
      • The ability to read drawings is considered an asset 
      • Must possess a valid drivers licence 
         
• Concrete Formsetter 
  • Perform a variety of tasks including setting forms, pour and vibrate concrete, finish concrete, strip forms in a safe manner 
    • Requirements:
      • Pre-fab gang forms, job built stick forms, install forms and ensure quality control of formwork
      • Stripping and removal of concrete forms after pours
      • Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces and other temporary structures
      • Assists other workers with general labour activities when required
      • Be aware of changes to materials and techniques
      • Adapt easily to different formwork systems
      • Work with a variety of hand tools, power tools and equipment used in concrete construction
      • Experience working on heavy civil construction projects is an asset 
      • The ability to read drawings is considered an asset 
      • Must possess a valid drivers licence 
         
• Junior Estimator 
  • Meet with new leads, take pictures, determine the scope of work (Perform site measuring as required) & then create estimates within a timely fashion. This process may involve procurement of quotes from sub-trades & suppliers, performing take-offs & detailed review of plans. Responsibilities will also include attending networking functions & mining internal databases of clients, subs & suppliers.
    • Requirements:
      • Review & scale plans to determine detailed Scope of Work (SoW) and quantity takeoffs
      • Input Quantity Takeoffs into the bid software (HCSS or Google Sheets)
      • Perform site measures to confirm dimensions (If necessary)
      • Take pictures of existing site conditions
      • E-mail “Requests for bids” (Plans & SOW) to appropriate trades
      • Set up sub-trade site visits
      • Follow up with sub-trades to ensure timely submission of pricing
      • Compile bid submissions and create preliminary budgets.
      • Follow up on a lead for tracking on Leads Report
      • Setup and Attend the weekly meeting to review leads & projects
      • Prepare Proposals of Design-Build Projects for review management
      • 3 to 5 years experience estimating heavy civil construction projects
      • Knowledge of current provincial and municipal OPSS codes
      • Computer Skills (Working Knowledge): Excel, Google Sheets, Google Drive 
      • HCSS Training is considered an asset 
      • Engineering Degree or Diploma is an asset 
      • P. Eng is an asset
